Social Amenities

The Clubhouse is the life-centre for social activities. It is situated adjacent to the sports fields in the extensive grounds of the hospital. There is ample parking available. It is easily accessible from Runwell Chase, off the A132, from Wickford - not far from the new A130, the A127 and the A12.

The club offers a membership-only bar that is open seven days a week.

There is a wide range of sporting facilities available for you to participate and to enjoy: -

Outside - Football, Rugby, Lawn Bowls and Archery.

Inside - Snooker, Pool, Darts and Table-Tennis.

In addition to the above we have "BIG SCREEN" entertainment with a 42" Plasma television in the Members Bar and a 60" screen in the "Mick Murphy Function Room. Both these televisions connected to Sky showing live sporting events including Premiership, Premiership Plus, Champions League football, Rugby Internationals, International Cricket to mention but a few, and digital music channels with a vibrant club atmosphere.

Within the clubhouse is a large separate Function Room, with bar facilities, which is available for hire all the year round. It can seat 120 people or accommodate 150 for a stand-up function. There is a large patio area adjoining the function room, which can be covered, if required, which can provide seated accommodation for a further 100 people. We can also offer advice to hirers on what they may require for their event to run smoothly, from the catering to a disco and MC.

The Function Room is also available for hire during weekdays for meetings, seminars and other corporate events - special rates.
